This is an arrangement I did some years back but have only recently written down. The basic melody is transcribed from several other versions and to it I've added a rolling/alternating bass line, to be played  in much the same way that a ragtime guitarist would do.

Wow, nice! I really like the way you added the bass line, which is often the banjo's weak spot. I'm looking forward to learning how to play this one.

Thanks for your comment..start this one slowly to start with and slide the first finger barre between the fourth and third strings for the first three bars to get the feel of the alternating bass. Once you've got that sorted, the rest should follow on nicely. It's not something you'd usually do on the banjo and may seem a bit strange at first.

Thanks Steve. I've had some practice playing alternating bass with Kirby's "Carry On", which is a very nice ragtimey piece and not all that difficult to play.
