Steve Harrison has produced another arrangement for us. This time it is in the “Blues” style. There are not many blues arrangements for classic banjo and this is a great tune with interesting harmonies and progressions.

 

 

As we can see from the sheet music front cover the player looks a bit like Steve, maybe that is him playing? .... how’s about doing us a video some time Steve? 

I have added the score to the MUSIC LIBRARY along with a midi to listen to.

I suppose there is a passing resemblance..although my hair hasn't turned completely white just yet!  The banjo player on the front cover prompted me to see how well the tune would fit on the banjo. The syncopation in the first section is a bit of a challenge which is where the midi comes in useful. The tune could be called a blues/ragtime sandwich and was cleverly written by James White.
