The Cascades..1904..Minnie Chandler

This excellent March/Twostep was inspired by the cascade of fourteen water falls which formed part of the centre piece of the 1904 St. Louis World fair. Scott Joplin also published a tune with the same title which was similarly inspired. Of the two, I prefer Chandler's composition which is very pleasing to play on banjo. Originally in Eb/Ab, it works better on the banjo in F/Bb. I've also added a few of my own embellishments. I arranged Joplin's composition some years back and the scores and midis of both can be found in the library....Steve.
