I don't think Johnson ever wrote a bad piece of music and this is no exception. It's a delightful rag the first part of which begins in a minor key (A Minor, E7). The second part is in C major and the trio finishes it in F major. The title becomes apparent as you listen to the trio. It's the 7th Johnson arrangement I've done so far and there are a few more waiting to be posted. The front cover shows an elderly black gent playing his banjo and is entirely appropriate to the composition. The score and midi are in the library...Steve.
