Hi Folks,

I've scanned the first 2 parts of S.S. Stewart's Complete American Banjo School and they are available for download here.

The third section of the book is a number of "supplements:"  essays and
articles by Stewart.  Unfortunately those pages are proving harder to
scan.  I just have a cheap desktop scanner and it's whiting out the
edges of the articles.  I'll play around with the settings some more
over the next couple of days and see what I can do.  Once I figure out
how to get decent scans of the supplements, I'll append them to the PDF
file and let y'all know that the full book is available.

In the meantime, enjoy the first two parts!  And please let me know if there are any scanning errors - missing pages, etc.

Best regards,
Adam

Thanks Adam,
There is a lot of time and effort to scan these. It is very interesting too!
I have never seen an American Classic Style Tutor before.

Many thanks for another great resource, Adam.
That's a great find. Thanks for all the hard work.
I have the same problem when I scan things on my all-in-one. Sometimes, if the image is a little faint, it only scans the middle. Try laying black strips along the edges of the page to force the scanner to look at the whole page.

Thanks for that tip, Claude. I'll give it a try.
Thanks! There is some good stuff in there. I am indebted to you.

If it will save you some time, I have posted on my website:

Observations on Stroke or thimble playing.

The Banjo Philosophically.

Remarks on the Banjo Fingerboard, etc.

Observations on the Banjo and Banjo Playing.

Just add them in order as they are in the book.

Thanks, Joel. I may just grab some of the articles from your site and append them to the pdf.
Thanks a lot Adam! I just printed this book off and cannot wait to get it home and digest it. :)
