This is a must do tune. The composer has made a good attempt at simulating stroke style banjo. It was composed for Patrick Sarsfield Gilmore, an Irish American band leader of that era. I've included the rather patronising synopsis as shown on the original score which with the picture on the title page  puts the composition into context. Including repeats, it's divided into 16 sections of music and there are 6 changes in tempo which gives the fingers (and the brain) a good work out. Half of the piano score was written in the bass clef which took some sorting but I think my final 'banjofication' makes for an interesting but challenging piece of music.
