A Site Dedicated to all enthusiasts of Classic Style Banjo
For some time now our friend and site member Steve Harrison has been working on numerous Ragtime arrangements for Classic Style Banjo. I assisted on a couple of them and produced video recordings for Georgia Grind and Creole Belle which are in the VIDEOS section, but now, after being delayed by a few computer problems, Steve has added a list of his arrangements to the MUSIC LIBRARY.
There are some cracking tunes in there , and although some may be a bit of a challenge, they are definitely worth the effort. I keep trying to get Steve to post a recording or two of these arrangements for us... so come on Steve!!
Here is the list, so far, that I have added to the LIBRARY:
Calliope Rag by James Scott
Chills and Fever Rag by Theron C Bennett
Cotton by Harry Von Tilzer
Creole Belle by J. Bodewalt Lampe
Dakota Rag by O.H. Anderson
Georgia Grind by Ford T. Dabney
Great Scott rag by James Scott
Happy Heinie by J. Bodewalt Lampe
Kansas City Rag by James Scott
Octopus Rag by John Oliver Erlan
Ragtime Chimes by E.A. Van Alstyne
Ragtime Jimmie by Lee B. Grabbe
St Louis Tickle by Theron C Bennett
St Louis Rag by Lee B. Grabbe
Whipped Cream rag by Percy Wenrich
Thank you Steve. Now that you have sent the files in PDF format all the problems have gone away! The editing for the MUSIC LIBRARY is now simple!

Thanks for your effort Ian, I've sent you another 4 tunes which are definitely the last ones for a while. Once I've got over my surgery next week, I'll have plenty of time to look for some more likely candidates. If anyone in the group has any ideas or tunes they'd like arranged, just let me know and I'll see what I can do....Steve.
Hi Steve , i slowed down octopus rag on a mini disc .and put it in your score key ,and sat down with guitar and worked the chords out .Its not only a great tune its got some cracking chords to.
Thank you Steve,
I have now uploaded another four of Steve's arrangements to the MUSIC LIBRARY:
All the Candy by Harry Kelly
Baboon Bounce by George L. Cobb
Dixie Twilight by Chas. L. Johnson
Rubber Plant Rag by George L. Cobb
I'm glad you like it.. it is a great piece of ragtime music but not very well known. I'm still trawling the web for similar rare bits of music. If you want a midi of my arrangement, send me an email address and I'll send you one...Steve.
