This is a French style cakewalk and quite different from most of what we hear.

It has interesting tempo, syncopation and chord progressions and I've transposed it into the banjo's favourite key Eb/Cm  Ab. Clérice was a classically trained musician and a prolific composer of both classical and popular music in France in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This tune was one of the earliest published cakewalks written by a french composer.  I've translated the title into French as the English title may offend modern sensibilities with the use of the N word.
