Joe Morley's Autograph?
Bought the sheet music to 'Thumbs Up' years ago.
Writing on the bottom left hand corner appears to be the signature of Joe Morley in grease pencil on the piano/banjo part's first page. I noticed this years ago, but I've gotten really curious about it recently. I've compared it to the photo on the 'Unique Joe Morley' website photo and it's not a perfect match, but I was curious, what do you think? Did I get lucky and it's the real deal?

Yup, stamp. I have a number of these where the stamp is on the front cover...but one is different from the rest and looks much more like an ink signature. I've never done a strict comparative analysis though.

What about this Clifford Essex signature from a busted vellum on an early "pre-war" (the Great War) CE Imperial banjo? Stamp or hand-done by CE himself?

Thanks for the info! I was wondering because the signature is raised and seems like it could be scratched off. Also it isn't flat like ink would be, but the stamp info makes sense. I don't own too many pieces of original sheet music, only three or so of Joe's compositons, so I've never seen a signature before.
I'm familiar with Gasex, my wife takes it every time she hears me play. Maybe I should practice more!
