If you want to see the way "The Pros" got their solos to "flow" under their fingers you can do no better than look at original arrangements in the hands of the player.

Fred Van Eps was a master speed (often too fast in my opinion), accuracy and flow.

Site member Jean Louis Thiry has very kindly sent me arrangements of FVE's performances, some transcriptions and some in Fred's hand. He has kindly offered these to share and I have added his booklet of scores to the TUTOR BOOKS page.

Many thanks indeed Jean. I have a few other FVE manuscripts that I will be sharing soon too.

UPDATED:

Jean Louis has added another 3 Fred Van Eps arrangements, for those brave enough to have a go... see how the "master" played the classic banjo!

Very cool stuff Ian. Many thanks to Jean Louis!

I have similar MS for "Persiflage" that I got from the ABF. I'm working on it, albeit slowly. Eventually I hope to post the cleaned up notation and TAB here.

The ABF has a good bit of FVE MS...but this is a treasure all in one place!
