Having just arrived back from this annual meet up I felt compelled to say something in respect, Firstly, the weather was glorious, secondly, it was great to see such a turn out and hear so many players who obviously love the banjo, and meeting  not for the first time the younger folk getting excited about banjo and its exponents . It is with genuine joy that I listen to young people in their teens playing classic style pieces on their banjos and, playing them very well indeed, It sure gives me hope for the future of our favourite instrument, great encouragement was given to everybody who braved the solo spot ! And I believe a few instruments changed hands with the happy new owner carting their new acquisition home with them too. It probably goes without saying that the whole event was organised by Keith Wilson and his wife Mavis and, quite an undertaking it must have been too Mavis was ably assisted in the kitchen by Sue and everybody must have left well fed and watered (I know I did) I always learn something new at such events and, I look forward to the next one at Backwell, it will be a first for me and I intend to enjoy myself all over again.

Yes, great to see you there Nick - there were some familiar faces and some new faces too. Thanks to Keith and Mavis for making it happen!

Hi Carrie, always a pleasure to see you and to hear you play too, I bet you left with one banjo more than you arrived with !

A banjo may have hitched a ride (they have a mind of their own).  Were you tempted by the Vega?
