A Site Dedicated to all enthusiasts of Classic Style Banjo
Very appropriately, this arrangement was requested by Carrie. It's taken from the first part of Boone's Southern Rag Medley No.2. Strains From The Flat Branch. This has all the hall marks of an old time fiddle tune and one I hadn't heard before. There are supposed to be lyrics to this, the opening line is featured on the piano score, but very little else and a search the web has so far been unsuccessful. Maybe someone can add some further info.as to its origins. It's a catchy straight forward tune that fits the banjo well and isn't too challenging to play. There is a brief biography about Boone on Wikipedia that makes an interesting read. The score and the midi are in the library.
