This has been around for a while but for those who have not heard William J Ball.... listen and be amazed. Bill was one of the finest "amateur" classic style players in the UK. I believe four albums/CDs were produced but there are not available any more. Keep your eyes on Ebay!

Bill was an inspiration to me when I first began playing classic banjo, I had the privilege of spending a day with him at his home in Bristol. As well as playing banjo, he was a fine pianist and had recorded  piano accompaniments to many of his Favourite tunes. He entertained me for the day by playing though his repertoire with the piano accompaniments. He played a wood hoop Weaver and the sound he produced from it was without equal. It's a day I'll never forget....Steve.
