My friend Frank Coyne has sent me a link to the Boston Public Library online 78rpm collection (includes cylinder recordings too).

A quick search for Vess Ossman yielded 74 recordings and Fred Van Eps 83    WOW 

This is an excellent archive and the audio tracks are downloadable too :-)

That's great Ian! Thanks alot. I wanted to ask if I could buy cds with classic banjo music (prefer that from sitting infront of the computer) but now I guess I can make my own cds! :-)
