I received a message from site member Bryan Trimmer. He inherited a Cammeyer Vibrante Banjo from his father and has a question about the "Kennedy's Galop". I do hot have a copy of and am not familiar with this solo... can anyone help with a bit of advice on the piece?

Copy:

Hi Ian,

Along with The Cammeyer I have a large selection of Banjo Sheet music which was my Fathers. In particular a Copy of AHNaau-Kennedy's 'Kennedy's Galop'

Which is I believe a Banjo Version of 'Maggie May' wouuld appreciat any comment as I'm struggling to play it.

Sounds like JAT BB730 marked as an "A" grade solo - that's anything up to Grade 3 on my reckoning. By the by we revamping the VCM syllabus to remove "copyright issues".

Is this the same as Kennedy's "Galop de Concert" which is in the site library and which Mike Moss played in a recent video?

I had thought that too Jody, as I can't find "Kennedy's Galop" in any of my music.

I guess we wait for Bryan to log in.  Bryan perhaps you could post a scan of the score or email me a copy.

Ian

Bryan has sent me a copy, although the quality is rather poor.

I have attempted to clean it up a bit but there are the odd note tails missing and maybe rests are not that clear, but it is not too bad. I have added to the music library for download.  Search for Galop.

Perhaps Bryan, you could say where you are having problems and then site members may be able to help with suggestions on how to play it, as I will not be around for a while?
