I learned to play Clawhammer on my 1889 Stewart Orchestra #2...back in 1985. I still have it, so at least there's one out there that has survived such a bashing. ;-)
The good thing I've learned about banjos is that no matter what you do or which one you play, you'll always sound like you. I have two custom-built CH banjos and the Stewart and I pretty much sound the same on all three.
Congrats on a nice Stewart! Hopefully you're here to learn something on it from when it was new!
