A great ragtime composition from 1911 by Harry Austin Tierney. My friend Steve Harrison and I have arranged this for Classic Style banjo.

When I began classic style, I first played with picks having been a melodic/folk player for many years. When I bought my first proper classic banjo, a Weaver, the picks sounded scratchy on nylon or nylgut strings so I made the decision to play with bare finger tips. For the first few months I felt like a novice, it was frustrating having difficulty playing tunes I could play well with picks. Once I'd cracked it, not having to rely on picks was very liberating and I can still get a tune out of a steel strung banjo with bare fingers.
