I have been chatting to Rob Murch and for those who have not seen Rob play before he is one of or probably THE best player of true Classic Style Banjo in the UK..or maybe even the world. He has that PIZAZZ and dynamic drive that brings the banjo and the audience to life.
I was amazed that I had missed this recording of him made some time ago, but what a recording it is! "Galop de Concert" by A.H. Nassau Kennedy is a cracking tune and I will add this to my "must have a go list".
Thank you Rob for that performance it brings a smile to my face everytime I watch it.
LOL, my immediate thought was: "Oh, I gotta tab that!"
Too late! I already did and it is in the library...my fading memory!
I note that he's using a thumb-pick...but I couldn't make out whether he's using finger picks too. Not to decry the use, just interested. I actually found my set whilst packing. Haven't seen them in years!
