Here's a hybrid banjo.
Note there's no peg on the 5th fret, on the 5th fret it goes under the fingerboard to the peg head.
The 5th string on the bridge is lower than the other strings enabling to play with a plectrum and not hit the 5th string, with a little practise

Zowie!  Great left hand work there. But you "cheated": you practiced!  Seriously, I really enjoyed this. Can we see a close up of the animals inlays on your banjo fingerboard?

Michael-I don't know what to say....I mean this in a complimentary way, and I've never done acid, but I think this must be what they mean talking about a bad acid trip.....

That is the oddest "Joe Morley meets Liberace" concept...thing......

Your imagination, editing, and production  talents are only outweighed by your banjo playing talents.

Great job...and....yes....

ZOWIE!

(you gotta love the elephants)

The banjo's called a "Joey" which means small Kangaroo, the inlays from the top are kangaroo, koala, wombat,

crocodile, dingo, echidna, the southern cross and a snake.l've had it since around 1978.

The arm l got made last year when l stumbled on this web sight.

The back which l show at the end of the video is Gold Leaf inlayed and the back is made of fibreglass

The tone ring is a brass tubaphone tone ring.

When l recorded the rag, the banjo had a mute on it to cut down the ringing.

l have a plectrum "joey",a bluegrass one and a solid state electric synthesiser one with special midi pickups and

fender guitar pickups attached.

My new project is a "Joey" with a carbon fibre resonator and a carbon fibre tone ring.

Knowing the sound will probably be a compromise but it's just trying to get the weight down for travelling.

Oh, for recording l had to take the back of and also the rods to get the camera inside and since the neck has moved but it is straight. Just haven't put it back together yet

Michael-How did you do the orchestration accompaniment?  I thought that was wonderful....great arranging, great parts, and I like the triangles, too.  Did you do that yourself on some sort of computer program with your midi banjo inputs?

The graphics I also assume were done by you on the computer?  Are there programs for that?

Your banjo is beautiful.  Did you make it?  If not, who did?

programs. visual-final cut pro, sound-logic.

Yes all my backing charts are arranged and then sequenced.

The "Joey" is my own brand, l only make to orders.

l also have a factory in China making ukulele.

A lot of banjo's l give away in 3rd world countries

Just something to show my gratitude to the happiness

banjo has given me.

You may want to have a look at

 this

Teaching the Locals how to play Banjo, Uke in Honiara, Soloman Islands

No big deal, in my world as an entertainer l've travelled throughout the world many, many, times.

l've seen how charity organisations waste so much money.

So the money l give away goes to the horses mouth!

The street kids!

l'm completely self funded.

l do it all on my own bat.

Actually when l see the smiles on there faces when they're playing

l get a huge kick out of it.

It sort of like getting 5 standing ovations all at once

Just trying to give back what l've taken

Mike-You are a talented and giving person.

I applaud you.

You are a credit to the banjo and all of your company here on the site if I may be so bold to extend my impressions across the other memebers.

That was quite an undertaking producing that video...I love the orchestration, and your playing is just great.

Keep up the good work....oh, and I'm a banjo luthier myself....you get high marks from me for sure on the banjo work itself.

God Bless You.
