Bonzer, Mate! Well played, great tune. I love your "banjo corner" too. I hope to have a "music room" eventually in my workshop. Gotta build the workshop first...

Ah, Bonzer! Marc you are a mate who speaks my kind of language. Yes, it is a tiny ' Banjo Room ' and every inch of the walls are covered with banjo pictures and the shelves are full of figureens. but it has had an identity crisis lately as it also houses all my computer stuff. I don't allow my wife in there, even to dust. Apart from his shed a man has to have somewhere that's sacred.

I've been enjoying your posts and videos, Ray. A banjo hanging on the wall in the Ole Sambo video caught my eye. The one in the upper right hand corner of the frame. It's heavily inlayed, has an English tailpiece and a arm rest made of something non-metalic. May I ask what is this nice looking banjo? Does it have frets?
thanks,
Ole Jo-bo

Hi Jody. The banjo was given to me many years ago in pieces, in the days when I used to play at Masonic Lodges. It was fretless, with carved ivory pegs and an engraved metal rim rolled over wood. It has no brand name but does look like a JAT mail order banjo which many were here in Australia. The case ( long gone ) was a slide in the end type. The drum is a fraction under 12 inches. The armrest is timber. I had it fretted and it has a lovely tone. Hope this answers your question.

Thanks, Ray. That explains why I didn't recognize it. It looks like it sounds good, whatever that means....
