The reason I'm uploading this four-year old video today is that someone has asked me for the score. I'd completely forgotten about ever playing this piece, but that ugly sod does look like me, and it has my name on it, so it must be me!
However, I've also forgotten who did the arrangement. Can anyone tell me? I've searched for Londonderry and Danny Boy on this site's scores database, but without success, and have also searched my computer...nothing.
Any idea who the arranger was?
Sadly I no longer have that Cole banjeaurine/banjorine...
Hi Rob,
I believe that is the arrangement by H.Delmer I have in my collection. All I can tell you is that I tabbed it out March 10, 2010. Whether I did the TAB before or after your lovely performance is lost to time.
For some reason, I cannot seem to attach the dots here. I'll send 'em direct.
Thanks, Marc! Delmer rings a bell. Ah! I've just searched his name in my files, and have found the arrangement in its original notation. Thanks for the tip!
If anyone wants a copy, let me know.
Excellent! Looks like you were responding while I was sending you the dots & TAB via PM. Glad to have helped!
Cheers, Marc.
Excellent. Good teamwork.
What do we know about Mr H. Delmer?
A quick google search reveals that there was a "Bert H. Delmar" actively writing music in the UK around the 1900 period. Possibly the name was misspelt. I don't find any references to a music related "Delmer"...which appears to be more common as a given name, not a surname.
I have one other Banjo Solo, a waltz by "H. Delmar". My money is on the spelling error.
I think so too. In fact I "corrected" myself when writing the previous post.
