I use the voice feature to double flag the 5th string Gs and set all the rests to not visible.  It is not perfect but prints out fine.

That's great, thank you Marc!  I just printed off and played it through - it's an interesting tune with all the little grace notes (and I can see it would be difficult to tab out - so thank you again!).  Sorry to hijack German's video.

Joel, there are several ways to get that double flag. Years ago, I needed to produce something that had a bunch of them and I was wearing myself out doing them individually. I went out on the Musescore forums and in just a few minutes got a master-class in doing it. You can somehow (I forget) tell the software to do it for every 5th string "G" and presto! I only do it now if I have to produce something for publication (or if somebody asks me to).

Rests: it just depends on the piece. Especially in tab, multi-voice rests are generally just annoying. I depend a lot on my ears for the rhythms...but it is nice to have them sometimes if I'm trying to count.

Sorry, I meant that I delete the rests when using the feature for double flag.  On a piece with two voices I will use a third voice for the double flag.  I will put in rests if the piece has them on the score.

I have been transposing things for the 5 stringer using the "whiteout" method with a graphics app on my iPad.  It is not the fastest thing in the world but I like using the originals. 

If it is just for me, I don't do anything and read it off of the page, unless I am making my own arrangement (my handwriting makes Frank Bradbury's look like calligraphy).

LOL, every time I shuffle thru the ABM, I think: "I should make this a project...do every piece in the book." Thankfully, I quickly come to my senses. So many dotted notes!
