a lovely tune & a free harmony lesson by A K
You have an amazing memory for tunes, Marc. What a nice sounding banjo. I am guessing that F&C means Fairbanks & Cole. Is that correct?
Catchy tune .Its a joy to watch you play so many tunes.
It is always good to hear the different interpretations of these pieces.
Marc's is leisurely and melodic, the video I did was fast and furious with many changes of tempo, and Ernest Jones recording was like a freight train tearing past!
Very good Marc!
Yes , correct , Jody . this is a very light & nice sounding banjo ; éric was right when he said , depending about the construction , a light banjo can have a good sound ; This one had the neck totaly straight between the rim & 5th string and like a saucepan in the small part . I fixed myself this problem using the same way i had done before on my zyther , then straighten the fingerboard & replacing frets & inlays ; i found the date (86 ) , 1886 , i guess , writen with a pencil on the part of the neck facing the rim ; according to this site , only 4 1/2 of these banjos are surviving ; one more now....

Ian , i forgot you did record this one . Yes , you play too fast but i play too slow ; i just learned this tune last week and i hope i will play it at the right speed , with my dad , for instance ; this tune is rich and there are many harmonic finesses that cannot be hearing if playing too fast ; For sure , this is just my opinion
Thx guys
