Three or four years ago when I returned to playing Classic Banjo, after a 30+ year break, I searched Youtube for Classic Banjo but was only able to find two or three videos and even these were not true “Classic Style”. Now, with the help of groups like ours and Hal’s Classic Banjo website, the popularity and accessibility of our style can be easily demonstrated by searching Youtube again.  There are now page after page of true Classic Banjo videos. Let’s hope that more and more people will take up playing this superb and fun style in the future.

 

I would like to personally thank all contributors and visitors to our site for all their contributions over the last year. Please help to make next year even better and to spread the word of Classic Banjo.

 

I will be off line for some time over the Christmas period so I have posted the first “Classic Style” banjo video that I watched as a result of a Youtube search. It turned out to be a tenor banjo performance, not classic banjo at all, but I loved it and still do. To me the banjo should be fun and entertaining and you don’t get more fun and entertaining than this.

Bernardo! Bring your banjo and follow me to the hacienda. You will distract Sgt. Garcia with your Senorita while Tornadao and I rescue the Silver Bell...I mean, you will distract Sgt. Garcia with your Silver Bell while Tornado and I rescue the Senorita. Ai, yi, yi, I always get these Bacon & Day names confused!
