A composition for 5-string banjo by Parke Hunter.
Parke Hunter was a famous banjo player, from a well known Bloomington family. Lived and worked in London UK from 1896 - 1903 as a partner in the internationally famous Mays and Hunter banjo duo (https://nl.findagrave.com/memorial/127832609/morton-parke-hunter).

This version inspired by version of Titanic String Band https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXTj29USLOU

To expand the length of my repertoire (and compensate for the time I spent on learning this one) I added some more repetition - also I like this one so much, I think it shouldn't end too early!

hope you enjoy!

I really like lilting first movement the change of tempo...  great playing as usual.

Hah! That's the way I prefer to play it. I use a lot of rubato in the first part and try to draw out an idyllic scene...then up the tempo for the dance.

For some reason, this piece plays really well on the Cello Banjo. The three little bass notes, I turn into three broad, goofy slides, just for fun. One of these days I'll get it recorded.
