Hi Richard,
Thanks and glad you enjoyed it. Ladbroke March is tune by English banjo composer Charles Skinner. I downloaded this tune but can't remember from where. I would be glad to scan it and send it to you. I will invite you as a friend to I can send that to you. That banjo I am playing on is a gourd banjo built by my friend Scott Didlake. this one was built in 1993. He died shortly thereafter of ALS. There is a great series of videos about him on youtube. Just type in his name and it will come up. It is strung with nylon strings and I couldn't imagine playing on anything else- it is so well built and has such a nice tone.

Hello Richard, nice to have you on board. Rob's probably gearing up for Hogmanay so I thought I'd jump in. I suggest you have a look at Hal's site : www.classicbanjo.com
in particular http://www.classicbanjo.com/tutor.php. All this material can be downloaded...I would suggest following the time honoured tradition - start with the Ellis' Thorough School and then Grimshaw's "The Banjo and How to Play It". There is a lot of overlap, the Grimshaw is a later edition and in my opinion better than some of the earlier ones. The second Grimshaw book "How to Excel..) is excellent but you need the basics - this isn't "folk music".

Hi Richard,
I am having scanner difficulties but will be sure to send music as soon as it is resolved.
I have learned to make these gourd banjos from Scott but have not made too many over the years (I enjoy playing them too much!) Pete Ross studied with Scott and makes some really nice instruments.
