Welcome Dave. It is good to see people from BHO visiting us. Make yourself at home and post questions or comments. We like to receive them and are always pleased to help.

Thank you very much.  I'm very new to banjo and interested in the history and styles of play.  This looks like a wonderful cite.  Looking forward to learning much more.

Hi Dave,

Welcome to the site. I'd wager your CC50 will sound good set up Classic-style -- with its light construction and simple tone ring, it should respond well to nylons. Let me know if you need any help.

I have a Gold Tone CC100 set up with nylon strings that I'm using for Classical banjo. It sounds good to me.

That's nice to hear.  I'm stopping in where I bought my banjo on Wednesday to discuss a set a strings to try on it.  I'm also thinking it would be nice to have a second banjo to practice bluegrass and old time (frailing).  It would be easier if I just liked one style of play, but gosh I rally enjoy them all!  Thank you

Yes I have a tenor and a plectrum banjo but I'm also leaning towards another 5-string for bluegrass and/or clawhammer.  :-)

At the moment the plectrum and classical compelement each other because they have the same tunings and so chord fingerings are the same.
