Do you know what from what date this originates? I was a Police Sergeant in the Handsworth district of Birmingham and I'm trying to visualise where the premises might have been.

The Windsor banjo factory was situated on Newhall Street/Road, it was destroyed in 1940, by the Germans.

This letterhead may relate to Windsor's private/home address;  was Hamstead Hill a residential area? I think that Windsor closed his factory after the bombing and continued to trade from the Hamstead Hill address, but it is only a guess. This maked the letterhead post 1940.

That would figure quite well. The Hampstead/Handsworth Wood area of Birmingham at that time was a very select area to live and was occupied mainly by the professional middle class. I wish I'd known about the address when I worked there as it would have been nice to have identified and photographed the house. Knowing the area as I do, I suspect that the house may still be there. Since my retirement, I don't venture into B'ham too often but next time I do, I'll definitely pay it a visit.
