Oh my! This is beyond my abilities.  I hope that Mike will be able to tackle it. He has been asking for this score for some time now.  Have you played this Richard?

Good Luck Mike, and thanks for posting it Richard.

What an excellent Christmas present! Thank you very much, Richard. I just went through the first part and it isn't as difficult as it looks, though I won't be able to tackle this one until next year.

Anyhow, a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year to everyone on CB-Ning!

I did play this at one time, a long time ago; the key to playing this and 'William Tell' is to learn it so well that you can play it unconsciously, if you have to think about it, you will never get through it.

As with a lot of legendary pieces ( the Hungarian Rhapsody No 2, being excepted)performed by the great players of the past, this is not as difficult to pull off as everyone thinks. The drawback to playing things like this is, that they have to be played every day and you must occasionally check what you are playing against the score to make sure that you have not allowed errors to creep in.

The work involved induces boredom and staleness and the joy goes out of playing the thing, but............. if you like it, it is a very satisfying duet.
