Witmark Progressive Method For The Banjo, George Lansing

This weekend I scanned this 1914 edition of the Witmark Progressive Method.

The earlier version of this is kind of a mess and attempts to teach in both A and C notations.

This edition drops the A notation and is fairly barebones and straight forward.  It does contain a section on pick playing.

"By using the Plectrum one can play on the Banjo most of the music written for the Violin, Mandolin or Piano."

Piano seems a bit optimistic!
