I have been largely absent here lately, and I apologize for that.  In this sesquicentennial year of the American Civil War my band has been very busy with gigs, and I have been focusing all of my limited practice time on sharpening my stroke style skills and repertoire.  I took and hard look at my right hand, the heart of the banjo sound, and made some adjustments over the winter.  I'm feeling fairly good about my sound now, just in time for our Early Banjo Gathering in June.

 

Anyway, I can't think of anyone better to be the "Big Guy" here than Ian.  He has that magic sound that we all secretly strive for.  Thanks for taking over, Ian.  I plan on diving into some new Classic tunes this summer.  I'll be watching your videos to see and hear how it should be done.
