Only three more tracks to go on my posting of the very rare copy of the final “5 string Banjo” recording made by Fred Van Eps in the late 1950s.

 

Here are another two, and just as good as you would expect from the “master”!

 

The first is Rondo Caprice by J. Alex “Jakie” Silberberg. You may recognize this piece as it was played by William J Ball on his CD Humoresque.

The second is Cocoanut Dance composed in 1916 by Andrew Herman.

This is a fun and lively tune that was recorded by Vess Ossman, Brooks & Denton and, of course, Van Eps.

I have added the score for Cocoanut Dance to the MUSIC LIBRARY, but don’t seem to have a copy of Rondo Caprice… anyone have a copy to share?
