After taking the North-o-meter test I noticed the option to make my own quiz so using the offered template I create a silly banjo quiz.

see if this works!:

Marc, somehow the content of your reply is not appearing on this page, at least not on my monitor. On the home page you are shown to be saying that you play Zarana in C minor. Is this a reference to my question about El Contrabandista, where one of the choices is D minor, not the standard key?

 Yes ; the original key for El contrabandista is Cm  & i play it in this key

however ; sometimes ago , you could find on the www an audio file of Bill Ball playing Zarana like a machine gun with a string orchestra  ( a violin does a wrong note at 1 . 59 ) and the key was  something like  Dbm ;

I started to think WJB  used to play it in both Cm & Dm but may be , i 'm wrong ..

anyway , i play Zarana in Cm

The bizness is not the same for El contrabandista because JM use for this tune all the neck of the banjo until the highest frets and it would be a problem , i guess , to transpose it in Dm .

The orchestra was led by Bob Sharples (on the 'Opportunity Knocks' TV programme) of whom Bill spoke very highly, he told me that BS was amazed that such music as 'Zarana' had been composed for the banjo, and consequently, spent a lot of time doing a superb arrangement of the piece for his orchestra. It must have been in the original key, something must have happened during the recording.
