Site member Skip Sail has kindly sent me a quantity of old sheet music and Tutor Books for inclusion in our MUSIC LIBRARY. Thank you Skip, particularly as the pieces have been sent around the world from Australia to the UK !

There are quite a few nice pieces and a couple of rare pieces that I have never heard of before. Many were at the crumbling to bits stage and quite a deal of  Photoshopping had to be done, so please excuse the quality on a few of the pages, but at least they are now safe and legible!  Here are a few:

Dinah’s Wedding   by Herbert Ellis

The Douglas Cake Walk   by Madeline Rossiter

Romping Rossie   by Madeline Rossiter

Levanto  Polka   arr Parke Hunter

Oakleigh Quickstep    by Olly Oakley

Fernbank Quickstep    by  Olly Oakley

I am working on a library of Banjo Tutor books and Skip’s tutors are currently being photographed for inclusion. If anyone has any old, less common tutor books, preferably in PDF format. I would be glad to include them. Please let me know.

I don't think that I've come across 'The Levanto Polka' before, Hunter was quite a player but, together with his pal Cadwallader Mays, are a bit of a mystery. I've managed to track down a few newspaper items mentioning their performances and of course, they were featured by Makelyne at the Egyptian Hall of Mysteries on Piccadilly and they also appeared at Sadlers Wells (not as ballerinas, Sadllers Wells was a music hall at the time) if anybody has any information about the Dauntless Duo, I would be pleased to see it.

will send you some more,as soon as i can get into town to go to the post office.
