Site Member, Rainier Lanselle, has kindly sent me a Fred Van Eps’ arrangement of Havanola, as composed by Hugo Frey.

(Rainier must know that I just love Fred Van Eps’ playing).

 

Havanola was played by Van Eps as the “B” side of “Ragging the Scale” in 1916.  This arrangement was hand written in 1959, so it was done shortly before Van Eps’ death.

I had never heard Van Eps play this one, but Rainier has kindly sent me a live recording of Van Eps playing it, but much later in his life.

 

I have added the score to the MUSIC LIBRARY, so thank you Rainier for this very kind contribution.
