I've been reviewing/playing basic exercises these days, using both Grimshaw's "The Banjo and How To Play It" and the Bradbury books. I have made a discovery worth sharing so that others won't learn the hard way:
Since the 1960s version of the Bradbury method is optimally laid out I bought the two volumes at a low price from internet sellers. I received volume 2 in good condition from one seller. From the other I received the wrong book. The problem was quickly resolved and I await the arrival of volume 1 from a different seller.
Some of the internet sellers of used copies of the Bradbury method show a picture of the old pink-cover 1960s version but what they are selling is the new version with the title in blue letters on a white field. Check the date of publication before buying. Fortunately I got a speedy refund and a sincere apology. Your luck may vary so buyer beware.
