A characteristic tango by Bernard Sheaff. It was once a popular item on the programmes of BMG orchestras.

Bernard Sheaff is much better known as being an arranger of popular music - plus the classics and Strauss - than a composer.  However, his few original compositions explore the banjo's capabilities better than those of many of the more well-established players.  Gypsy Love is a tango that asks to be rendered with fiery Argentinian passion.  It still keeps asking .......

Hi Tony,

That was lovely playing and a great tune! Sheaff knew his stuff.

All you need now is to get hold of a Fiery Argentinian... maybe you could get me one too?

Loved it and thank you.

Sheaff was a wonderful banjo player, composer, and arranger of music for the banjo. This particular melody has been a favourite of mine for a long time, well played Tony. Sheaff's collaboration with Cammeyer on such pieces as 'Danse Bizarre', Marche en Passant' etc. resulted in some of the finest music ever written and recorded, for the banjo. Alan Middleton was a pupil of Sheaff and had some interesting tales to tell.
