I learned it partly by ear and partly by sight,

What I couldn't see  I filled in by ear. 

Out of these I made a tab and started to practice slowly.

Then I make a backing track that suits my taste

Added an intro, as I play on marketplaces with my backingtrack; there has to be some intro so I can pick up the song. Also I added some repetition, I like to play pieces that last long enough to make people find their wallet!

Ah, I figured as much.  You are sort of following the later arrangement by S. S. Stewart but you did some different things that I had not seen in print before (and I have located 5 different published arrangements). 

I'm always on the lookout for any arrangement that I don't have which is why I asked.

It sounds great though!
