I love these "real life" recordings!
You have obviously put a lot of practice in and are making rapid progress.
I don't recognise the tune.. where is it from? Is it from Bradbury's Mel Bay?

Yes, coming right along!! Sounding good. The trio or C part makes good practice of the "thumb glide" and barre position playing.
Ian, the piece is "Pajama Dance" from the Mel Bay book. It suspiciously similar to "Banjo Dance" on page 18 of his earlier "Modern Method."
Paul, once you are ready check out "Banjo Dance" for a different arrangement of the piece. It is a great way to learn about variation and how the same thing can be played different ways. It can also add to your bag of tricks for dressing up pieces.
yes I know what you mean by the differant ways to play a song...i want to improvise some after I get better and learn better of what to do with my fingering...its funny....at the piano I can record with no retreats but as soon as I turn on the recorder with the banjo I start making mistakes...hi hi hi...but with time????
I'm having a ball with this and trying very hard to keep hand position correct I know that if I do now it will pay off latter....again thanks for the encouragement ......the both of you...regards Paul
Joel..i don't be able to find Banjo Dance...i would like to learn it if available??
Click on the "Tutor Books" link at the top of the page and find "Bradbury's Modern Method For The Banjo." Download it. Scroll to page 18.
