Nice job.
I used to play Dill Pickles, but I have mostly forgotten it. What sheet music did you use to learn it?
Sorry for not posting earlier, but Lynn and I have been away at the Midlands Banjo Fest...more later!
Wow Carrie,
You really have been practising! How anyone can hold their breath for 2min 53 seconds I will never know ;-))
You are getting an amazing sound out of the "Special" and the performance was excellent. It looks like you are picking a bit closer to the bridge and bringing out "THE" classic tone from the instrument. You must have cast iron fingertips to die for by now.
Really good... I am going to have another listen and see if I can spot you breathing ;-)
Thanks for your comments. Yes, I've been practicing along to Vess Ossman (slowed down to tortoise level) - the score is the Clifford Essex publication one from the Music Library and is pretty close to the Ossman recording.
I think I need to practice actually breathing when I press record - I wonder if I am a medical wonder :) I was sorry not to be able to come to the Midlands Banjo fest, Ian but I hope to go to the April rally next year. Looking forward to hearing about the Banjo Fest....
bravo Carrie ; keep on picking
i 'am gonna help you by posting a blog of the same name
i made the recording myself with a Neumann U87 in 2004 ( some foot taps .....! )
you will be able to practice along with éric Stefanelli , the best French CB player
