Bushrangers March was composed for 5-string banjo by Bert Bassett (1894-1937), probably in about 1912. Piano part by Hampton Smith. Rendered here on 5-string...
With all this talk about Bert Bassett I have just spotted an arrangement by him while scanning old BMG magazines.
I don't know if it is his finest :-)

It may not be Bert's finest arrangement, though he was an excellent arranger, but it is probably his most poignant. Bert died at the age of 43 of bronchial pneumonia, having been afflicted for most of his life with lung problems. There are frequent comments in BMG that Bert is off somewhere convalescing. Yet Tarrant Bailey tells us that he was an inveterate pipe smoker and favoured the stronger brands. He also spent most of his working life in smoky theatres and dance halls. He would have been better advised to keep away from cigarettes altogether.
