I love it! Good to see you and Edouard back on video.
That banjo certainly has a "Barbaric Twang". It looks like an C Essex.. what is it Marc??
A++++++++++
Tha banjo had no case and as you can see , the seller wasn't a specialist of the packaging ;
i fixed the banjo myself using Franklin glue , i made a new Calcutta ( the original vanished ) and also the French polish
Wonderful playing, well done, sounds great. Incidentally, some parts of are reminiscent of Bolsover Gibbs FM of an Old Jaw Bone, harmonised by Ellis. Frank
What is a "Calcutta"? The most likely thing to have vanished is the bridge. But why is that (or any banjo part) "Calcutta"?
Ah sorry ; Rich Evans , the collector with the blender call the CE sign on the head a Calcutta ; i thought was the familiar word of this for the initiates
OK, but *why* "Calcutta"? Yes I know the Blender Banjos Of Rich Evans. I had one myself, which I won on an eBay auction some years ago. It was a J Clamp fretless with a nice Walnut neck. Now a student has it.
