this is an error , Rob ; if you look at my videos in the church where i play the cello , you will see Henry , the guy on the left plays mandolin_Bj ; in fact , he is a high grade classical guitar player & professor ( A_lagoya ' pupil ) but he loves so much the bluegrass mandolin ; so he use to practice this during his retreat ( ? .. not sure of the word ) ; he is playing the piccolo_banjo parts on a vega_wonder mando_Bj ; the problem is that because he is an old music conservatory teacher , he prefers writing his own high banjo parts instead of using the reals ones ; sometimes , it is strange ... ; with Eric , we keep our comments for us because we are guys from the street music & from the blues and he is a high grade teacher .. The 2nd problem is that the mandolin Bj is very powerful because played with a flatpick ; fortunatly the cello and the others éric made ' s Bjs are very powerful , too ;

Yes ; there are post_dated ; it is strange but there are many of these in France & Europe ; for sure , tou can set it up with only 4 nylon or gut strings & play classic stuff ; i believe you can play classic Bj on any string banjo , mando or guitar_banjo ; YET , the " magic " secret is the 5th string ; this is the reason why the makers from the late 19th used to keep this 5th string on the piccolo and even on the cellos ' banjos ; Welcome on this site @+m
