The banjo was made in France last year by master luthier Eric Stefanelli. The idea is Vega based, yes, but all the parts are new. The Tuberfoam Tone Ring was made in Canada. I am uncertain about the provenance of the  large diameter thin rim shell . The neck and everything else except tailpiece and strings were made by Eric. His design was to make a banjo especially suited to playing ragtime on soft strings with bare fingers.
