Hi Mike,  This Newbie was so excited to see the photos of your Abbott banjo.  I have one which I thought was an assembly of old bits.  That is because the tailpiece is such an unusual fitting - screwed into the rim.  But now I think it might be original.  It certainly plays very well after Flatfoot Johnny restored it for me.  I will try to attach a photo of the tail.  Many thanks, Anthony
