The peghead shape parodies the inverted viol pattern used by Gibson and Paramount. This is an inverted rabab or sarode shape. The inlay combines features of the forewarned Ganesh and Uncle Dave Macon, who played a lot of classic banjo under the oldtime banner.

the peghead shape is very original , beautiful ; i think a peghead is important . Everytime , i see the peghead of the basic entry level Deering banjo , i wonder how guys can play with this uggly thing .........

thanks! Yes that 'goodtime' peghead isn't even a useful rice paddle. Since you appreciate peghead beauty I will post a photo of the peghead of my J Clamp fretless. A bit later (might be days or weeks) I'll post something else that I hope everyone will enjoy. First I must locate the photos, or take them, and these pegheads are several hours south of me.

a rice paddle ! yes ( the gregular one .. ); i am gonna post , too , a particulary original one , the one of my last vidéo which is an old English fretless banjo .
