Do any admins of this site know if there is a way to create a FAQ page?  Or to make a discussion "sticky" so that it's always at the top of the Forum page?

Reason I ask, as new people join, is that it might be nice to have one listing posted with various resource links ... Links to Hal's site, David Wade's site, Tim Twiss', Rob's Grimshaw exercises, etc ... Link to sites that have cylinder (or other) recordings ... Links to sites where you can buy CDs of classic-style playing (phonozoic, etc).

Heck, forget the new people, I'd find that page useful!  :)

I'd be happy to help add links/descriptions, if there is way to do this with Ning.

thanks,
Adam

I didn't know about the Vess Ossman playlist that Lucas had created ... Cool!

thanks, Rob.

We could start the FAQ page by cannibalizing a couple of discussions that have already appeared on this site:

http://classic-banjo.ning.com/forum/topics/handy-hints-for-classic-banjo

http://classic-banjo.ning.com/forum/topics/introduction-to-classic-banjo

I'm sure there are other good tips in other discussions too!

BTW, I don't see how to add anything to the NOTES/FAQ page ... Is this admin only? It's okay with me if it is, I just didn't know if I was missing something ...

In the end the links section might cover a lot of FAQ and may be all that's needed ... I'm wondering, though, is it possible to divide the links into categories? Tutors, how-tos, recordings, etc? Just a thought ...

All the best,
Adam
Hi Folks,

Carl has added me as an Administrator to this site so that I can add links and notes to the FAQ (you do have to be an admin to do so). If you have suggestions please email them to me from my Members page and I'll add your items to the list.

Thanks,
Adam
