I have always loved Gypsy Love by Bernard Scheaff and had arranged it for 3 banjos some time ago. But after we recorded Dengoso by Nazareth I wondered what it would sound like with Gypsy Love. Both…Continue

Wouldn't you know it. After announcing the new website to all of you, the computer that I am using to stream the music decided to die. Period. I am porting over the radio station to another computer and should be up and running by the end of the day.
As they say in the radio biz, "Stay Tuned!"

Hello everyone. Well, I have finally published my Internet Radio Station, Classic Banjo Radio. It streams 24/7 and has players for iTunes, Android, and Blackberry. There are at present approximately 500 pieces that I have cleaned up. Some of them still sound like crap but you should have heard the originals. Thanks to Ian for letting me tap into the Banjo DJ. I will be cleaning those up as well. And Jody contributed quite a few…

I am having difficulty notating a triplet in one of my songs. I was hoping someone could give me a little help. The measure has a pickup triplet of 3 sixteenth notes. I thought it should also have a half-note rest, a quarter-note rest, and a sixteenth-note rest to complete the measure but it still doesn't resolve. Can anyone guide me in this?

Yes ; it 's just because when i have made this arrangement , i wasn 't too familiar with my musical ' software ; btw , the part is too long ( 4 pages ) i didn 't know how to use the " bis " & " repetita " signs of the software ; the arrangment works because each B is noted Bb by the software ; I will fix these mistakes on the piano arrangement and send it to Ian ; May be he could change it in the Library ; Hal , thanks to point this
Done ; send on your e mail and to ian ' s ;
i use both Harmony assistant & guitar pro if i want to insert an edited tab .
When playing with my father , he is abble to read up to 4 pages A4 format taped together ; 3 is more confortable : 5 is impossible ; so 3 pages for Sweet corn now is better ; i should have done that earlier
Hi Hal,
I have read your discussion on Sweet Corn with Marc and I notice that you mention the "partial 2nd banjo accompaniment" for Sweet Corn. There may be a bit of confusion as to how the score is laid out. I have added a couple of Coda phrase instructions to the score and you can now see that the whole 2nd banjo/guitar acc is, in fact, on that single page of the download.
I have also amended the MUSIC LIBRARY for this score download to contain the above page and Marc's updated, 3 page version, of the 1st banjo with piano accompaniment.
Hi Hal,
I think that the 1st banjo and guitar/2nd banjo scores ARE correct.
Check this download with the bar numbers written in. DOWNLOAD SWEET CORN
Following both 1st and 2nd banjo scores, they agree bar numbers (incl repeats) to the bottom of the 2nd banjo score at Bar 81. Then D.S al Fine takes you back to Bar 56... then another 16 bars take you to Fine at bar 72.
The total number of bars is 81 + 16 = 97 This is the same number of bars as in the 1st banjo score.
I have read through Marc's piano score and an also a bit confused as it seems to differ from the original 1st banjo (I can't quite work out where Marc's 3rd time bar 38 goes to, as it seems to miss a section of the score where ever I go back to!).
Perhaps you could chat directly to Marc about this please?
Good luck. I am sure that using Marc's piano score you can easily edit it to your requirements with a bit of music entry in your software!
I hope that we can see a video of your group playing it.
Yes , i took a look at Carl ' s version and he return once to the part A .
the problem is that we used to play it like that with éric Stefanelli 8 years ago_ i played the cello _ and i have the habit to play like this , like we used to play before ; i just added a 1/4 bar in my arrangement , a kind of " stop chorus " before to go to the F major part , because il feeled to " air " the tune ; Also i can remember that i didn 't write any cello part ; i played directly the cello from the guitar part , following at same time both the bass dots and the harmony manuscrit notes
Hal, Banjo Frolic got missed out. I have been going through the pieces more or less historically, but omitting those which I thought might be well known. The really nice man has twisted my arm to make the list complete, so Banjo Frolic is as yet not done, but will be eventually.....unless of course you can produce a file in the right format to be included in the list.
I am having great fun in producing these things. Some forgotten masterpieces, and some which might need a little more loving.
I only wish I could play these, as I am the man who plays the less interesting, but nevertheless vital, bass part at the very bottom.
Thank you very much for listening
Anthony
