From the info I've managed to glean from the web, this may be one of the earliest published pieces of ragtime music.

I've had to be a bit inventive to fit it to banjo as the piano version has a driving left hand with a walking bass line, it would probably make a good two banjo duet. I've borrowed a little from bluegrass in a few of the bars in the first part but overall, I think it works well. Bars 54 to 68 (and repeats) should be played with a well defined 4th string to get the full bass effect. The score and midi are in the library....Steve.
