Home-made Cello_Bj ' head

for a CE cello_bj  diameter is 14  3/8 .  Sometimes ago , a friend gived to me an important lot of drum heads ; not new ones but not  destroyed ones because they came from a store which used to rent drums kits for gigs and the drummers always wanted " new heads " ; so these drum heads are for the most , just played for a few gigs .

Do not know the technical words in English ; so i'm gonna post pictures who , i hope , speak by themselves :

Rim in the center  ( 1st photo ,)  Pencil (2nd photo ) make  a round around the rim .

i use here a 18 inches drum head  ( 16 ' is too small )

I am trying to understand how it stayed so perfectly round without a "flesh hoop". Many round "frame drums" have no flesh hoop so maybe it is unnecessary (?)

The long tapers are being pulled around the flesh hoop, and back under the tension hoop, in picture #8
